15 Carolina team hit the court fast by playing in the Synergy 15 American tournament on Jan 11 and securing a spot in the gold bracket!   This high energy play moved the team forward as we entered the MLK tournament.

The first day of play in American Division of MLK was vigorous, exciting and long.  The team finished 2nd in pool play after playing three matches then all ended in 3 sets as well as winning a one game playoff challenge against P3R 15 Liberty from Pittsburgh which placed the team in the upper tier for the second day of play. The team closed the gym that night at 10:30 pm after 10 sets of play that lasted 7 hours!!

The second day pool play was more challenging that the first.  We lost competitively in all the matches including those to EC Power Stealth from Washington DC (22-25; 17-25) who finished 9th in the tournament; and ASEVC 15 National Red (23-25; 12-25) who finished 15th in the tournament.

This level of play seated us in the Emerald Bracket with a first round bye for last day of the tournament. Emerald bracket was the 4th bracket in 7 brackets of playoffs behind gold, silver and bronze brackets.   Unfortunately, we lost to ACAD 15 from Long Island, NY in the second round.  Team finished 35th out of 79 teams!

Highlight of the tournament, the team made the MLK tournament Instagram on Sunday!! So much fun…

Perseverance, skill and teamwork elevated play in the first series of tournaments. Team is commended for their effort!
