JB Loomis Named to League Academic Honor Roll for Volleyball

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Five members of the Navy volleyball team were among the 59 student-athletes from the sport who garnered Patriot League Academic Honor Roll accolades Tuesday.
A minimum 3.20 grade-point average for the 2011 fall term was required to earn placement onto the honor roll for volleyball players.
Erin Fortner (So., Villa Hills, Ky.), who previously was named to the 2011 Patriot League All-Academic Team, was named to the league's honor roll for the second consecutive season. The oceanography major posted a 3.35 GPA this past fall.
Kelsey Owen (Jr., Canfield, Ohio) received the laurel from the league for the third time in as many years. The English major earned a 3.56 GPA during the 2011 fall semester.
Appearing on the honor roll for the first time in their respective careers were Katie Bray (Jr., Cary, N.C.), J.B. Loomis (Fr., Havertown, Pa.) and Christy Rapp (Jr., Royal Oak, Mich.). Bray, an economics major, posted a 3.25 GPA this past fall, Loomis, who will select her academic major this spring, was one of two players in the league to have compiled a 4.00 GPA, while Rapp, an oceanography major, tallied a 3.35 GPA for the semester.
