Keystone Juniors 12s Capture the Silver (2nd Place)

The Keystone Juniors U-12 Premier team has placed 2nd (out of 14 teams) at the Spooky Nook March Spectacular on Saturday, March 29th.  It was a total team effort, literally!! After the coaches missed the exit (it's a long story), the team's parents stepped in to get the girls warmed-up for an 8:00 AM start. The girls were focused and ready.  They knew the line-up and the coaches expectations, which is always great to see in young players!!

After earning 1st place in pool play and a bye in the quarterfinals, Keystone Juniors battled in the semifinals against Delaware Juniors 12-1 (20-25, 25-16, 15-12). DE Juniors was up 8-6 in the third set when libero Emily Collins went back to serve. She served out the rest of the game, including five aces!!  The championship match was a tough one, losing to a very solid Club Delaware team (13-25, 3-25). After an unusual start, being shorthanded, and a 10-hour day of volleyball, the Keystone Juniors U-12's Premier team are proud to be tournament finalists!!

Some team highlights include five players serving 10 aces or more, including Gia D'Antonio with a team high of 35.  Our offense, Olivia Bertoline, Hailey Blum, Grace Clark, Sara McDougall, and Gabby McGinn combined for 54 kills.  Setters Lindsey Fagan (5 aces) and Gia D'Antonio combined for 33 assists. Libero Emily Collins led the defense with 35 digs and MB Gabby McGinn recorded her first solo block!

The Keystone Juniors U-12 Premier team looks forward to the Crosscourt Classic at Kutztown University on April 26th. Keep up the great work, ladies!!
