On Saturday, March 7th, the Keystone Juniors U-13 Premier team captured its third straight gold medal at Lancaster Bible College. They were undefeated throughout the tournament, earning a bye in the quarterfinals. During pool play the girls defeated Mystique Purple (25-14, 25-12), J-Stroke Jingle (25-9, 25-12), GPS Crush (25-17, 25-13), and Central Penn (25-15, 25-20). This win was an amazing example of an all-around team effort and the coaches could not be more proud!!
The playoffs saw Keystone Jrs. matched up against two teams they previously saw in pool play. In semi-finals, the U-13’s defeated GPS Crush (25-18, 25-18) and in the finals they were pitted against Central Penn, winning both sets (25-17, 25-20).
MB Gabby McGinn and MB/RS Riley Shaak owned the net, recording a total of 11 blocks.
Additional highlights: Setters Ireland Giaquinto, Sammi Chambers, and Lindsey Fagan tallied 48 assists on the day. Liberos Emily Collins and Maddie Donaphon combined on 36 digs, with a team total of 59 digs. OH Olivia Bertoline, Lauren Garvey, MB Gabby McGinn, and MB/RS Sara McDougall, and Riley Shaak combined for 60 kills. The team combined for 71 aces on the day.
The Keystone Jrs. U-13 Premier team returns to Lancaster Bible College next Saturday, March 14th. Good luck, girls!!
