After winning the Bill Stevens Award for 1st place in 14 Open Gold at the MLK Classic, the Keystone Jrs. U-14 Premier team has done it again!!!  They were undefeated throughout the entire January Snowfall tournament, not losing a single set. The girls outscored their opponents 250-121.

During pool play, Keystone Juniors U-14 Premier defeated CJVA 13 Black (25-9, 25-1), Synergy 14 Thunder (25-9, 25-8), and AVA 14 Platinum (25-12, 25-12). During pool play the team worked on jump serves, running quick sets, and even mixing up positions. The girls earned the top seed heading into playoffs.

In the semi-final match, Keystone Jrs. defeated Infinity 14 Blue (25-11, 25-19), moving on to the championship match versus Club Integrity.  Club Integrity had just won their semi-final match in a three-set nail biter, so their momentum was swinging in the right direction. The Keystone Jrs. found themselves in an early 11-2 deficit, a position they have rarely been in.  After an early time out, the girls worked steadily together to climb out of the hole and found themselves tied at 21-21.  They went on to win both sets (25-23, 25-17), becoming gold medal champions yet again!!!

Team highlights include:

Setters Ireland Giaquinto and Sammi Chambers combined for 50 sets. Outside hitters Lauren Garvey and Olivia Bertoline combined for 22 kills. Middle blockers Riley Shaak and Gabby McGinn combined for 42 kills on the day. Right side, Sara McDougall, chipped in with 7 kills and 7 assists. Sara also did a great job setting blocks and helping our setters.  Our defense, Maddie Donaphon and Emily Collins dug up 33 digs. Shout out to Ireland Giaquinto for serving up a team high 26 aces and to Riley Shaak for 11 blocks!!! We missed setter Lindsey Fagan and hope she gets well soon!!!

Up next: Keystone Jrs. U-14 Premier will attend Capitol Hill Classic on Feb. 13th-15th in Washington DC.
